Idaho State University, a Carnegie-classified doctoral research and teaching institution founded in 1901, attracts students from around the world to its Idaho campuses. It is the state's designated lead institution in health professions.

Students who get involved in student government have a hands-on role in the university and an opportunity to affect policy and decisions within ISU as representatives of our student body. ASISU is represented by an elected Executive and Legislative branch, as well as a Judicial branch comprised primarily of the ASISU Supreme Court.
The university’s student athletes compete on 13 Division I athletic teams in the Big Sky Conference. Athletics teams are an integral part of the university and the Southeastern Idaho community. Whether students are a Bengal athlete, an ISU student or a fan, students will find their traditions and dedication are worth experiencing.
If students are looking to play intramural sports, participate in sports clubs or get a workout in on their own or by joining one of many fitness classes offered each semester, the university have got it covered.
