About NSW Department of Education

DE International is the international unit of the NSW Department of Education. It manages international programs for all overseas students and temporary residents enrolling in a NSW government school, as well as study tours programs for groups to visit the schools and department facilities.

The school system is the largest education network in Australia. The students achieve academic excellence in a safe, secure and innovative learning environment. Students will have a rich and rewarding learning experience. It is recognised for the excellent quality education programs, and offers a secure pathway to a career or to further higher education study.

NSW Government Schools offer English language courses at government-owned and operated Intensive English Centres across New South Wales. International students can choose from over 150 of these schools in Sydney and regional locations. Students who want to study in Australia for two or more years and complete the Higher School Certificate may choose from a range of schools and locations.
