Texas State University is currently investing over $690 million across its campuses.
The University introduced its 2017-2027 University Master Plan, which offers premium infrastructural facilities while still upholding its “grey to green” initiatives. Recently, the university built the Undergraduate Academic Centre and the Performing Arts Centre, renovated academic buildings, added three new housing complexes and a new Engineering building, expanded the Student Recreation Centre, the Bobcat Stadium and constructed three parking garages.
The 2017-2027 University Master Plan has undertaken the following projects for the below mentioned facilities:
San Marcos Park
Setting up a hilltop establishment and residential neighbourhood, building an upcoming Science and Engineering district, large open-air recreation and student life spaces and garages for parking.
Completion of the quadrangle and the introduction of more buildings.
An urban design plan with buildings throughout the length of a pedestrian-friendly main street, reflecting the entrepreneurial and lively persona of the university’s research district.
LBJ Student Center Expansion
Currently under construction, this renovation includes a refurbished lobby, second ballroom, conference rooms, meeting areas, informal group spaces, lounge area and expanded welcome center. Completion is estimated to be in 2020.
University Events Center Expansion
Currently under construction, this expansion includes a new loading dock with access to lower courts, multi-purpose suite as well as more locker rooms and offices. The renovation will create more space for athletic programs, ceremonies and events.
