The University is launching a number of exciting new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (Conversion Masters) has been designed for students who have a first degree in a subject other than Computer Science (or a subject closely related to Computer Science), who wish to develop their knowledge and skills to start a career in the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Industry. The course has been developed in close collaboration with a number of commercial partners including IBM to meet the skills gap in this growing employment area, and provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills required for a stimulating career within Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. There is the choice of a one or two year option, year two is a Year in Industry paid placement.
The School of the Arts is also launching an exciting new undergraduate programme available from September 2021: BA Game Design combines coding, creativity, and critical theory to deliver a distinctive new provision in interactive audiovisual media. This interdisciplinary programme is one of the first of its kind in the Russell Group, combining modules from Computer Science and the School of the Arts to enable you to develop skills in coding and programming alongside an understanding of creative design principles.
