What's new

What's new

Griffith University has recently been recognised in several international assessment surveys, receiving particular commendation for its commitment to sustainable development, and continuing its steady ascent through the world university rankings.

The 2021 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings placed Griffith University 38th out of 1115 institutions worldwide for sustainable development, and it became the only institution in the Gold Coast to rank in the top 40. The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are a metric of a university's performance relative to a set of sustainable development goals, issued by the United Nations in 2015. The rankings were developed with the intention to address global inequality and poverty, as well as mitigating our impact on the planet and striving towards widespread peace and prosperity.

Griffith University has been ranked 290th globally, in the 2021 QS World University Rankings, climbing 13 places since last year, and 51 places since 2014. Vice Chancellor and President Professor Carolyn Evans says of this year's result, ''To be ranked within the top 300 of more than 1300 universities analysed by QS provides an incredible boost at a time when the sector has been hit hard by the impacts of a global pandemic.''

The university's growing international reputation is supported by the quality and impact of its research groups, which conduct globally relevant research spanning many subject areas, and engaging with some of the most significant challenges we face as a society.
