University of South Australia was established in 1991 but it’s foundations date back to the latter half of the 19th century. The forerunners of today’s Uni9versity were the South Australian School of Art, founded in 1856, the first of several Teacher Training Colleges formed in 1876, and the School of Mines and Industries which was established in 1889. These schools were renowned for providing quality education and for responding to the needs of the nascent colony of South Australia. It’s vision is to be a leading contributor to Australia having the best higher education system in the world, supporting the world’s best educated and most innovative, cohesive and sustainable society.

Students can experience the modern facilities and be taught by academics who are experts in their field. With more than 200 degree programs on offer, they can find something to suit their career interests. The university offers degree programs across a wide range of subjects including business, law, education, arts and social sciences, health sciences, information technology, engineering and the environment. It has invested significantly to enhance the student experience and is committed to excellence in teaching and learning through its modern research facilities.
