Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School was established by Miss Frances Lowe in July 1903 as a private school. At Ivanhoe Girls’ it structures it's co-curricular activities, pastoral care program and learning resources to best meet students’ needs. These programs and facilities help support the academic curriculum and give students’ valuable experiences for their future lives.
Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School is extremely fortunate to have a large number of talented staff who are experienced, dedicated and always striving to improve their performance to provide a better level of engagement with their students. All it's teaching staff are registered teachers with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and all professional staff have a Working With Children Check (WWCC).Ivanhoe Girls’ has a large number of staff who have been with the School for many years, and such stability and loyalty are greatly valued as they lead to high morale and strong collegiality. The School recognises and celebrates service to the School with its annual Cooerwull Service Awards.
Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School provides the perfect balance of individual attention and breadth of choice. They have 1,000 students across the Early Learning Centre (Kindergarten and Pre Prep), Junior School (Prep to Year 6) and Senior School (Years 7 - 12).Throughout their schooling students learn best in a stimulating, collaborative environment where their individuality and interests are valued and encouraged. Ivanhoe Girls' is ideally located in Melbourne’s north-east, with excellent access to public transport by train and several bus routes. The School offers two dedicated school bus routes with Mees Bus Lines to service areas that aren't covered by public transport. These modern, clean and safe buses offer travel to and from the School for Ivanhoe Girls’ students only and the buses drop off and pick up students directly in front of the School.
