Mater Christi College


Mater Christi College is a Catholic girls' secondary school, which takes its direction from the person and message of Christ as proclaimed in the gospels. Since 1989, students of all religions and cultural backgrounds have been welcomed and supported through the challenging and rewarding experience of studying overseas in a second language. It provides educational programmes relevant to the individual needs of its students. The college mission Statement calls it to be educationally innovative. It is always looking to create new opportunities, resources and ideas to excite students and teachers alike.
Through the balanced growth of the whole person, Mater Christi aims to develop informed and compassionate women of faith who will take part freely and creatively in the affairs of society. The College respects the traditions and spirit of its founders, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, and strives to be organizationally and educationally innovative to meet the challenge of a rapidly changing society It is committed to providing a safe and exciting learning environment and when help is needed, students can find support through Pastoral Group teachers, Year Level Co-ordinators, College Psychologist, Careers Counsellor, Nurses, Heads of School, Computer Services.
Mater Christi has a beautiful site in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Belgrave and it can be seen on the hilltop above the Belgrave Township. The site is just a short walk, up the hill from Belgrave Railway Station and Bus Terminus.
