The Armidale School
The Armidale School is an independent, Anglican day and boarding school for boys and girls. It is one of only three schools in New South Wales to be a member of Round Square, an organisation of around 90 schools globally that share a commitment to education through leadership, service and adventure. At the core of the TAS vision is the firm belief that education is about the holistic development of character and willingness to engage in life, running parallel and not separate to, the pursuit of academic achievement and effort. It welcomes international students to share in academic, cultural and sporting programs. Everyone has the opportunity to explore, experience, and excel. TAS is committed to the ideals of education through adventure, leadership and service.
The School believes that a quality co-curricular program is central to the development of every student. Whether music, drama, sport, service or adventure activities, it is the business of the school to help boys and girls explore and experience worthwhile and engaging opportunities, and support them to excel in whatever they choose to do. The co-curricular offering is broad and engaging, with all students required to participate in opportunities offered in sport, drama and creative arts, public speaking and debating, and a range of student clubs such as chess, photography, film making, and electronics. The active participation challenges the boys and girls to be creative and expressive, to build resilience, courage and organisation and leadership skills.
TAS is set on a spacious 25 hectare campus, the school features a mix of historic and modern buildings, located in Armidale on the New England tablelands of northern New South Wales, Australia.
