Overview
The University of Hartford (UHart) is a private university in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA. The city of Hartford is located between the great American cities of Boston (two hour drive north) and New York City (two hour drive south). The campus is a beautiful green space, bisected by the Park River, which separates the academic and residential sections, where 85 percent of UHart undergraduate students live on the campus.
Students can select from over 100 different degree programs in business, engineering, health sciences, liberal arts, fine arts, performing arts, and education. At UHart, students work with their professors in small class settings, providing an environment that allows them to engage in their coursework in a very personal way. Students also learn through research and project work with both their classmates and professors.
Facilities at the University include a sports center, state-of-the-art library, and performing arts center. Students will also find on campus a post office, convenience store, cafe, and many healthy eating options.
Students have access to a comprehensive range of career services and resources to help at all stages of the job hunt. Help is available during one-on-one meetings with a career advisor, as well as through resources available on the University's website.
University of Hartford alumni have made a name for themselves as leaders, including as president of El Salvador as executives at ESPN, Hartford Steam Boiler, and Stanley Black & Decker as accomplished performers and media personalities such as Orin Wolf (lead producer of a Tony-Award winning musical), Christine Dwyer (Broadway actress), and Liane Hansen (NPR radio host) and as explorers like NASA astronaut Jack Swigert Jr.
