University of Nebraska - Omaha
The University of Nebraska at Omaha is recognized as the premier Metropolitan University throughout the United States and the world. Since its inception in 1908, it has been firmly anchored in the community, forging partnerships with business, education, government, arts and civic organizations. Students from more than 115 countries attend UNO, making it the most diverse campus in the region. Last year, almost 2,000 international students attended the university. The strategic planning is an active and dynamic process that involves participation of university leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community leaders through regular strategic planning steering committee meetings and biannual campus forums.
The University offers more than 200 accredited academic programs. Many have earned recognition for excellence including UNO's award-winning aviation program and the athletic training program, one of the oldest in the U.S. It is adaptive to the needs of all cultures and work it’s best to make sure all of it’s students are comfortable and happy. The university is committed to preparing it’s students to be engaged citizens and community leaders in a diverse and evolving society.
Omaha is university’s campus and classroom. No fences or barriers separate students from the opportunities offered by the greater Omaha area and beyond.
