University Senior College
University Senior College was founded in 2002 as a secular, co-educational independent secondary school for Year 11 and 12 students seeking an academic and supportive pathway to university studies and beyond. In 2020 University Senior College will introduce Year 10.
USC is committed to preparing students to bridge the transition between secondary and tertiary study. The College is the outstanding choice for senior secondary schooling in South Australia. Its students come from very diverse backgrounds with around 80 different private and public schools providing its local intake and an international intake of students from China, Korea, Vietnam and Japan. At University Senior College, students will be participating in a unique and dynamic educational experience that will enable students to maximise their chance of academic success. Students will learn in an environment where they are respected and provided with encouragement and guidance in final years of school.
University Senior College aims to promote a cooperative environment that will foster the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, self-reliance and a sense of self-worth that will enable students to maximize their personal potential. It will teach students the skills, knowledge and personal strategies to approach their studies in a motivated and self-directed way. Highly professional and caring teachers will support students learning in an open and friendly atmosphere. It is dedicated to providing students with a head-start, by making available a senior secondary education that thoroughly prepares them to successfully enter tertiary studies.
The College is located within the University of Adelaide campus. The students at the campus are supported in a vibrant and stimulating learning environment fostering a smooth transition to tertiary study.
