Volunteer Leave program
A volunteer leave policy has been introduced for Australian staff. For FY21, employees will receive two paid days leave for time spent with registered charities that support our Sustainable Futures goals of improving access to education, gender equality, environment and community.
Global Excellence Award categories introduced
Community Endeavour and the Greener Futures awards were introduced in FY20 to celebrate work teams do to support their community and the environment. Demonstrating our commitment to improve the communities we operate in, these awards have been embraced by global teams.
Key initiatives include:
Funding a school in Kenya: The Hotcourses Foundation is an example of strategic community investment. Nyumbani UK & the Hotcourses Foundation support some of the world’s poorest children. The charity was started 25 years ago as a hospice for those children abandoned and dying of AIDS in Nairobi, Kenya. It now supports over 4,000 children through three distinct programs. These programs address the issues of education, homelessness, HIV/AIDS, sustainability farming and healthcare for these children and their communities. Find out more.
Melbourne’s highest fundraiser for Sleep at the G: IDP has a well-established partnership with Melbourne City Mission, raising over $100,000 to assist with initiatives to help end youth homelessness. In 2020, IDP topped the leaderboard for the corporate fundraiser category. View full media release here.
Australian Bushfire fundraising appeal: IDP teams raised more than $27,000 for Red Cross and the Melbourne Zoo’s Bushfire appeal through a range of fundraising activities.
Scholarships to help 2,000 students progress learning in Covid-19: IDP Education and its language school in Cambodia partnered with Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport launching a new scholarship program 2000 students access to a one year digital literacy training program and ACE’s English language curriculum delivered online.
