Perth to host Australian International Education Conference 2019

International education experts from around the globe will head to Perth for the 33rd Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) in October 2019.

Next year’s theme – Leading the Way – will focus on showcasing the people, practices and nations that are driving change in the sector through new approaches to education, cutting-edge technology and research.

IDP Education, Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Barkla, said next year’s conference is an opportunity to champion people and organisations that are making a real difference for students.

“At this year’s AIEC in Sydney we discussed empowering a new generation. It is only fitting that next year we focus on the leadership that should naturally follow once students, institutions and services are empowered to respond to the opportunities of tomorrow’s education industry, and the future workplace,” Mr Barkla said.

More than 1,500 delegates from across the sector, as well as NGOs, government representatives and private providers, are expected to attend and partake in a range of sessions, workshops and roundtables. AIEC 2019 will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 15 -18 October 2019.

The conference will be jointly presented by IDP Education and the International Education Association of Australia, who will celebrate their 50th and 15th year anniversaries co-hosting the conference respectively.

“As IDP celebrates half a century of leadership in international education in Australia, we look forward to welcoming industry leaders to Perth so we can further strengthen the way we support our students to achieve their global ambitions,” Mr Barkla said.
