Launching IDP Connect podcast

IDP Connect podcast to help you stay informed on international education landscape

Where are students returning to campus? Where do students have to quarantine? Are courses online, in-person or a combined delivery model? Will students who study online be eligible for post study work visas? What will 2021 look like? How are institutions working with international students and governments?

With large-scale industry events on hold due to the pandemic, our IDP Connect team have launched a new podcast to provide clients with the latest information and insights.

Titled Global Student Marketing, the podcast looks to answer these questions, connecting leaders across the world to discuss what the future looks like for international students. Using IDP Connect’s world-class insights and expertise in international education, the podcast explores how different countries’ approaches to COVID-19 are affecting students.

Hosted by Jonah Duffin (IDP Connect Director of External Relations), the podcast features insights from panellists in the UK, the US, Canada and Australasia.

The inaugural episode, Global State of Play, explored the latest shifts and how competitor markets are getting back to a ‘COVID-normal’. In the UK, most students can return to campus with quarantine restrictions in place. In the US, returning to study depends on the institution as colleges across the country implement different ways of bringing students back to campus or conducting the Fall semester online. In Canada, only students who are enrolled in an ‘essential’ course are able to re-enter the country. While in New Zealand and Australia, international borders remain closed.

The second episode took a closer look Ireland and Canada, with special guests from University College Dublin and Global University Systems.
