Investing in our People
Our Sustainable Futures strategy sees us building the capability and diversity of our people through dedicated mentorship, tailored learning and leadership impact, designed to facilitate equitable access to a range of opportunities across our global business.
Operating in more than 30 countries, IDP's employee base comprises a wide range of nationalities, ages and cultural backgrounds. It is this breadth of voice, experience and expertise that enables us to connect with customers and drives our business success, fostered by a range of capability building and leadership programs.
Key initiatives to foster a diverse and inclusive IDP include:
Elevate is a program introduced in FY20 to build capability of female leaders in the organisation by inviting them to become Directors of IDP’s subsidiary companies. Acknowledging that more women on boards positions an organisation for success, Elevate provides female leaders with development opportunities through The Australian Institute of Company Directors and mentoring opportunities with IDP’s Global Leadership Team.
Maher El Bakry Emerging Leaders Program
To ensure emerging leaders from all geographies are identified and nurtured to achieve their potential, the Maher el Bakry Emerging Leaders Program provides development opportunities and recognition for early career high performers. With a focus on identifying diverse talent, FY20's 12 award recipients were 80% female and 20% male, and came from more than 7 countries.
Global Excellence Awards
The Global Excellence Awards program is designed to recognise individual and team achievements each financial year, with award categories aligned to IDP’s strategic plan and business priorities, including two new categories recognising initiatives that minimise environmental impact and support gender equality and educational outcomes within communities.
Our RISE review system also provides a globally consistent platform for individual development plans to be set and monitored and we can provide access to the full suite of more than 6,000 Lynda online learning modules though our learning management system.
To underpin all these initiatives, we have a strong and integrated policy framework designed to facilitate equitable access to a range of opportunities across our global business. Our suite of policies includes the IDP Code of Conduct, the Board Diversity and Inclusion policy, the Global Workplace Flexibility policy, the Global Learning and Development policy and the Global Talent Acquisition policy.
