Student life at Brooklyn College is active, diverse, and multifaceted. Students are engaged in more than 160 student clubs and organizations spanning a broad range of artistic, community, cultural, ethnic, media, religious, social action, and other special interests. More than one dozen fraternities and sororities bring Greek life to campus. Intramural sports are popular, and the college's award-winning basketball, cheerleading, cross country, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, and volleyball teams compete at the Division III level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Library of the college offers students not only access to an ever-increasing collection and computer services, but to comfortable rooms and nooks to study and rest in between classes.

Brooklyn College was always meant to be beautiful, right from its beginnings in the 1930s. It has remained among the most beautiful in the metropolitan New York area. The lily pond, gardens, and elm trees are still here, and the four original buildings are constantly being refurbished to reflect the expanding needs of its campus community.
