Pace University is a private university with campuses in New York City and Westchester County, in the United States. It offers over 160 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in a variety of subject areas. Students can also complete their degree online, while still getting access to all the support services that those learning on campus receive.

The university's highly regarded Careers Service offers everything from help on writing a CV to information on upcoming workshops designed to help students with all stages of the job hunt. As well as meeting an advisor in person on campus, students can also be paired with a mentor from amongst Pace University's alumni, who are ready to help tomorrow's leaders.

Pace University gives students the opportunity to study abroad for part of their degree, with a range of options from short-term programmes to volunteering. Students are given the help they need to make the most of the opportunity, be that resources online or through the Education Abroad Department on campus.

At both campuses, a wide range of activities take place each week, and students are encouraged to get involved to meet friends and gain new experiences. Clubs and societies on offer range from more subject-specific societies to sports and recreation clubs, as well as groups encouraging leadership incentives and volunteering opportunities. When it comes to keeping fit, all students have access to a health and fitness center at both campuses.

Students are supported throughout their time studying at Pace University via a number of different services. Each campus is staffed with nurses to help diagnose any illnesses or symptoms, and there are also confidential counsellors available to talk to.

Based on two campuses, one in the heart of New York City, and the other just 40 minutes away by train, students can experience one the world's most famous and exciting cities, their home away from home.

What's new

Covid-19 update

Health and safety are top of the agenda at Pace University and with the start of the autumn semester in August 2020 the university remains committed to adhering to guiding principles put in place to manage the impact of coronavirus. Taking guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New York State Department of Health, the university has a detailed plan for the return of students. This will entail a phased return to campus with in-person, hybrid and fully online options. For more information students are encouraged to consult the university website.

International outlook

With an international population of over 1,127 undergraduate students, and a further 940 graduates, Pace University is home to a large variety of students representing over 107 countries.

Pace understands the value of bringing diverse perspectives into the classroom and achieves this through welcoming high numbers of international students to study and learn alongside local American students.

In an interview with international students at Pace University, when discussing the benefits of an American education, the group said that there were more educational opportunities, as well as interaction with and mentorship from faculty and staff.

Pace University is located in one of the most diverse and vibrant metropolitan areas and gives international students the chance to experience a real world, skills-based education.

Students at Pace have the chance to live and learn alongside individuals from around the globe. This helps all students who attend Pace gain a deeper understanding of international and foreign affairs issues. Students can also take part in unique cultural experiences, try new cuisines and celebrate new holidays.

Teaching quality

Teaching quality

Pace University's faculty are leading practitioners, so the knowledge they bring to the classroom is first-hand, immediately applicable, and at the forefront of the field. The student to faculty ratio at Pace is 14:1.

Part of Pace's teaching offering is Pace's Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), which offers support to faculty in a rapidly changing teaching and learning environment and helps to ensure the teaching at Pace stays excellent. In recognition of the faculty's desire to keep up with the latest instructional methodologies, the CTLT is committed to new initiatives which incorporate contemporary teaching strategies into the faculties teaching practices, including using new technologies to enhance teaching excellence.

CTLT works to help introduce new faculty development programs that show its teachers how to provide a positive learning environment that fosters students' intellectual growth and competence. CTLT supports both traditional and non-traditional instruction. In order to enhance the student-centred environment, CTLT advocates for effective student support so that students can succeed in learning.

Pace University is comprised of five schools, located across its two campuses, in the Financial District, New York City campus and in the Westchester, New York campus. The colleges and schools include:

College of Health Professions

The College of Health Professions offers programs at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral level that reflect the changing landscape of the healthcare system and prepare students for impactful careers in healthcare practice and health-related research.

Dyson College of Arts & Sciences

The Dyson College of Arts & Sciences offers programs spanning the arts and humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, and pre-professional sciences (including pre-medicine and pre-law), as well as numerous courses that fulfil core curriculum requirements.

Lubin School of Business

A nationally-ranked leader in business education, the Lubin School provides its students with experience-based learning that blends business theory with practical experience to prepare graduates for successful careers in the global business environment.

School of Education

The School of Education prepares students to not only meet the requirements for teaching certification, but also to be agents of change committed to student success and lifelong learning.

Seidenberg School of CSIS

One of the first comprehensive schools of computing and information systems in the country, the Seidenberg School remains at the forefront of the field and prepares students for professional work, research, and lifelong participation in a new and dynamic information age.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Some of the required steps for admission include:

Undergraduate level

  • A completed application and USD 50 non-refundable application fee.
  • A photocopy of valid passport displaying the student's name and photo.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • One essay/personal statement, approximately 250-650 words in length.
  • English-Language proficiency scores: TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson PTE (sent directly from the testing authority).
  • Official transcripts from high school or university.

Transfer students: All of the above including course descriptions or syllabus.

Postgraduate level

  • The completed online application along with non-refundable application fee of USD 70.
  • Two letters of recommendation (three are required for the PsyD in School-Clinical Child Psychology, the PhD in Mental Health Counselling, the MSEd in School Psychology, and the MSEd in Bilingual School Psychology).
  • A CV describing at least the past five years of employment history and any significant community, professional, or college extracurricular activities.
  • A personal statement from high school or university.
  • All official transcripts.
  • Submission of TOEFL, IELTS or Pearson PTE academic scores.
  • GMAT or GRE (Graduate students).

Scholarships & funding

Scholarships & funding

There are a number of scholarships available for international students who are applying for the first year or transferring, and who show academic promise. Merit-based scholarships are also available to international postgraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence. This includes the maintenance of high academic standards with good GPA scores.

Students are encouraged to make use of the merit scholarship estimator on the university website to ascertain how much funding may be granted based on academic achievement. Students are not required to submit or complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify for merit scholarships. The university also offers a number of financial aid resources for prospective students including checklists, frequently asked questions, external scholarship opportunities and information for parents which are all available on the university website.

In New York, Residence Life reflects the city itself - dynamic, diverse, and unique. Pace's residential programme is designed to create a supportive environment for students to live, learn, and achieve academic success.


Pace Athletics offers a wide range of sports in which students can choose to participate.

Campus dining

Pace University Dining Services offers students the convenience of various locations and healthy dining choices on its Manhattan, Pleasantville, and White Plains campuses.


The Pace University Library is a multi-campus system comprised of the Birnbaum Library on the New York campus, the Mortola Library in Pleasantville and the Graduate Center Library and Law School Library in White Plains. The library offers users a wide array of resources and services including access to over 120 research databases (from on or off campus,) print and e-books and, resource sharing partnerships with local area libraries.
