What's new

The Graziadio Business School celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019, with the dean of the school, Deryck J. van Rensburg, who is implementing the school's new strategic vision, ASPIRE 2025. This encompasses the school's vision and plan to develop Graziadio into a prestigious business school that is highly-ranked by U.S. News and World Report.

In early 2018, the school was renamed to the Graziadio Business School. It was previously known as the Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management. The plan for the next seven years entails major school enhancements to vastly improve the student experience, further develop faculty as business pioneers, and advance industry relationships.

Deryck J. van Rensburg's vision for the Graziadio Business School is to ‘reach for new horizons and unleash its organic potential'. It will do this by providing a transformational education from business experts, developing students to become ‘best for the world' leaders and entrepreneurs.

Teaching quality

The Graziadio Business School's classes are led by world-renowned faculty as well as adjunct members who are leaders and innovators in their respective industries. Class sizes are small with an average of 26 students per class. This encourages interactive learning and helps students build strong relationships with their professors and peers.

Several faculty members not only teach, but also work professionally, in the business sector. They ensure class content is relevant, up to date, and comes from professional experience. Graziadio's faculty members are active and inspiring role models and their leadership skills encourage students to follow in similar footsteps.

Numerous events are held every year to help students gain knowledge and experience outside the classroom. Department structure

The Pepperdine Graziadio Business School aims to challenge students to develop bold, innovative thinking abilities that facilitate transformational leadership in both industries and communities alike.

Students can study a range of programs including MBA, MS, executive, and doctoral degrees. All programs are designed with three key principles, namely, integrity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

A range of part-time and full-time MBA, MS, and executive degree programs are available online as well as at the school's regional campuses across Southern California.

The Drescher Graduate Campus in Malibu offers mainly full-time graduate programs. This includes a standard full-time MBA program that has a number of specializations including dispute resolution, finance, entrepreneurship, and many more. There's also an international MBA which focuses on global business.

The full-time MBA program adopts an integrated approach to applied learning and emphasizes ethical leadership skills. Students of the full-time MBA program have the additional option of pursuing the Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible (SEER) Business Strategy certificate program. All MBA programs are designed to provide a values-based, collaborative, and experiential learning architecture, with a view to develop students' leadership.

There's also a range of full-time MS program offerings which include real estate, business analytics, human resources, applied finance, and global business.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Applications to the Graziadio Business School are based on a mixture of academic qualifications and personal achievements. The international admissions team is interested in students who will not only succeed academically, but will align with the school's values-based community. The team seeks determined students who demonstrate Pepperdine's values of purpose, service, and leadership.

The supporting documents required include an academic letter of recommendation, previous education scores (submitted directly from the school or testing authority), and proof of financial support. Applicants will also need to prove their English language levels. This could be through an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, TOEFL paper-based score of 600, or online test score of 79, or equivalent.

The international admissions team are experts at reviewing applicants from many different countries. Students are invited to contact the Office of Admissions if they have questions regarding applying to Pepperdine Graziadio.

Students can find all they require across each Pepperdine University campus. The large range of educational and social facilities available include dining areas, computer labs, technology support, shops, fitness centers, and three libraries which collectively house over 800,000 books and resources.

The Student Health Center has a wide range of medical services from immunizations to massage therapy. Dedicated support services are on-hand for people with extra requirements such as disabled students or veterans.

A large variety of extra-curricular activities and organizations are on offer for everyone to enjoy during their free time. This includes athletics programs and student-run clubs such as Graziadio Student Ambassadors, Asian Business Club, and Entertainment Media and Sports Society. As Pepperdine University is a Christian institution, there are also plenty of spaces for students to explore spirituality, regardless of faith.


Those studying with the Graziadio Business School can live on the Drescher Campus housing accommodation, which boasts breathtaking ocean views. Apartments have areas to relax, study, and socialize in and are within walking distance to the school's teaching building. There is a free transport service where students can travel around campus and to the local shopping center.

Accommodation options include off-campus residences in communities near the university. Areas include Woodland Hills, Santa Monica, and Calabasas.

The Graziadio Business School seeks to attract the brightest students from across the globe. It recognizes the high achievements of the international students and therefore offers several scholarships to eligible individuals.

Most scholarships from Graziadio Business School are based on merit and are awarded annually. Evidence of extracurricular activity, work experience, leadership skills, and other factors are all taken into account. Each applicant is considered for merit scholarships when they are admitted to the university. Some scholarships include more specific criteria.

For international students who need extra financial support, there is an American co-signer loan option in place.
