St. Phillip's College (Alamo Colleges)
St. Phillip's College, founded in 1898 is one of the oldest and most diverse community colleges in the nation. It is the only college to be federally designated as both a historically Black college and a Hispanic serving institution. It is a comprehensive public community college whose mission is to empower its diverse student population through educational achievement and career readiness.
The College offers more than 425 degrees, certificate, and licensing programs. Class sizes are small and allow for more personal interaction between students and teachers. Instructors teaching on the campuses are leaders in their fields in the San Antonio corporate community and help students apply real world experience to college courses. International students completing their academic course work at any of the Alamo Colleges transfer to four year colleges and universities and begin working toward their bachelor's degree. International student services have a qualified staff of professionals who are available to offer comprehensive assistance to international students regarding admissions processing, immigration advising, and student health service options.
St. Phillip's College is located on the east side of San Antonio, two miles from the centre of town and is easily accessible from all parts of San Antonio and its surrounding areas. The Southwest Campus is the site of the Multi-Modal Transportation, Allied Construction Trades, and Repair and Manufacturing Departments, with ten programs of study.
