New remote ESL program
To support international students, SUNY New Paltz is offering a virtual seven-week English language program that can be taken online from any location. Students who wish to study intensive English, but cannot travel because of the coronavirus pandemic, can save money and study alongside students worldwide through an accredited, high-quality English language program.
Pathway to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA)
International students conditionally admitted to the CIA are able to meet their language requirements for admission by completing the academic English pathway program at SUNY New Paltz. The university has partnered with the CIA, helping international students with their language abilities through the Haggerty English Language Program. While improving their English skills, conditionally admitted students enjoy the benefits of being a student at SUNY New Paltz, and the ability to easily visit the nearby CIA campus. After completing the language program, they receive a certificate and can begin their culinary studies at the CIA.
Visit the Haggerty English Language Program website for more information about taking English courses online, and about the pathway program for CIA students.
The Center for International Programs at SUNY New Paltz has added a new resource of a Student Ambassador online platform, powered by Unibuddy©. International applicants can now chat with current students online to ask them questions about life at New Paltz. They can also read their blogs to learn about their experiences and advice for new students. It’s easier than ever to connect with other students, even before coming to campus.
