Virginia Commonwealth University, a public institution is home to more than 1,600 international students from 101 countries. The university and its academic health sciences centre serve as one national urban public research institution dedicated to the success and wellbeing of its students, patients, faculty, staff and community.
With more than 220 degree and certificate programs, VCU has something for everyone, including many opportunities to gain real-life experience and perform important research. Academics should mean more than sitting in a classroom. At the university, students will find themselves doing exciting research, working with people in other disciplines, making a difference in the community and stepping off campus grounds to gain real experience. There are hundreds of clubs and organizations students can join, as well as about 40 fraternities and sororities.
The university’s two main campuses are located a mile away from each other, both in downtown Richmond. The Monroe Park Campus is home to most of the undergraduate students and their classes. It’s five health sciences schools and top-rated medical centre are located on the MCV Campus.
