The Wellington Institute of Technology is a tertiary institution that trains around 6,100 students every year. WelTec is one of New Zealand's oldest tertiary education institutions and the second-oldest in Wellington. It has been helping people find their vocation since 1904, in 2020 WelTec became a subsidiary of NZIST.

The institute offers a range of industry-led qualifications from trades through to degrees and postgraduate programmes that are future-focused, developed alongside industry and provide students with practical skills so they can pursue their career goals. WelTech have campuses at five locations across the Wellington region. All the campuses have modern training facilities and work zones.
