Cumbria Global Excellence PGT Merit Scholarships

Selection is competitive and based on academic performance, English proficiency, and a unique personal statement. Scholarships cannot be combined with other awards.

Scholarships are limited in number (up to 10 awards) and apply only to specific programmes taught at Ambleside, Carlisle (Brampton Road and Fusehill Street), and Lancaster campuses. Applicants must hold an offer for September 2026 entry, be self-funding with overseas fee status.

Eligibility Criteria 1. All applicants for the Cumbria Global Excellence PGT Merit Scholarships must hold an offer of a place of study on an eligible full-time taught master's degree (180 credits) at the following University of Cumbria campuses: Ambleside, Carlisle Brampton Road, Carlisle Fusehill Street and Lancaster. 2. For students enrolling on programmes lasting more than one year the scholarship is awarded for the first year of the programme only. 3. Only applicants with an offer of a place in September 2026 will be considered for an award. 4. All scholarship applicants/recipients must be self-funding students with overseas fee status. 5. To be eligible to apply for a PGT Merit Scholarship, applicants must: a. be holding an unconditional or conditional offer for their place of study b. have accepted their offer for a place of study by the scholarship application deadline, c. have paid the relevant deposit and d. have completed the scholarship application form in its entirety, (incomplete applications will be disregarded). 6. Scholarship applicants: a. holding, or on track to be awarded, the equivalent of a minimum of a UK 2:2 bachelor's degree will be considered for an award b. submitting a unique personal statement in support of their application (not AI generated) will be considered 7. The decision of the scholarship panel is final, and the decision cannot be appealed.
