Undergraduate Merit Scholarship

The Undergraduate Merit Scholarship is awarded to all undergraduate students coming to the University of Stirling from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland with a minimum of AAB performance at A-level or equivalent.

The scholarship provides a £1,000 cash award per year (for Years 1–3), and can be combined with our Honours Year Scholarship, which covers the full cost of tuition fees in the Honours year of study.

Students starting in September 2025 who receive this scholarship are also eligible for the Stirling Welcome Scholarship, which is a £1,000 cash award in Year 1 allocated to all students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Students will also be guaranteed a place in University-managed accommodation during their first year.

Eligibility and availability

This scholarship is exclusively available for students joining in the 2025/26 academic year. Prospective students planning to join in 2026/27 will be able to benefit from our new Stirling Success Scholarship.

• You must be classed as a student from England, Wales, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland for tuition fee purposes.
• You should hold a minimum of AAB at A-level or equivalent.
• This scholarship is only available to students studying full-time at our Stirling campus.
• You must take up your place and enrol on your course at the University.
