Selection criteria:
Selection to be based on academic achievement as determined by the selection committee in the department of Economics and financial need, as determined through the completion of an award application.
An award, valued at a minimum of CAN $1,500, will be awarded to a graduate student registered full time in the Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts who demonstrates academic excellence and financial need.
Value description: The value and/or number of Awards may change from year to year.
Must be a registered full time graduate student in the Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo.
Preferences in order of priority are as follows:
Preference will be given to international doctoral students.
If no suitable candidates are found, then the award can be given to international master's students, domestic doctoral or domestic master's students.
Preference will be given to students who demonstrate an interest in economic theory or econometrics. (This should be demonstrated in the personal letter portion of the application). If no suitable candidates are found, the award can be given to students studying in any field of economics.
Preference will be given to a student who had previously been living in India.
