City Circle Tram

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) offers a FREE City Circle Tram. The maroon and gold historic tram travels along the 35 line around the central business district starting on the iconic Flinders Street (pictured, right).

To Clockwise

The City Circle tram service operates within Melbourne's central business district. The service operates in a circular route passing major tourist attractions, as well as linking with other tram, train and bus routes in and around Melbourne. Trams run in both directions approximately every twelve minutes between 10am and 6pm Sunday to Wednesday and extended hours, 10am - 9pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Clockwise service: Flinders Street > Harbour Esplanade > Docklands Drive > La Trobe Street > Victoria Street > Nicholson Street > Spring Street > Flinders Street.

To Anticlockwise

Queen Victoria Market

The Queen Victoria Market otherwise also known as the Queen Vic Markets or the Queen Vic is a major landmark in Melbourne, Australia, and at around seven hectares (17 acres) is the largest open air market in the Southern Hemisphere. It is much more than just a fresh food market but also a historic landmark, a tourist attraction and a Melbourne institution.

The market is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne

Federation Square

Federation Square is Melbourne's meeting place which can hold up to 10,000 people at a time. It is a unique cultural precinct and is home to many bars, cafés and other attractions. There are often large public events and Australia’s biggest sporting events are shown on the giant TV with people watching on the pavement and deckchairs. Federation Square rises slightly above street level offering spectacular views of the City of Melbourne, Southbank and the Yarra River.

Make sure to visit the Visitor Information Centre to make the most of your visit. One-hour guided walking tours are available each morning from Monday to Saturday.
