Founded in Brooklyn in 1896, Adelph University is Long Island’s oldest private coeducational university. It is a highly awarded, nationally ranked, powerfully connected doctoral research university offering exceptional liberal arts and sciences programs and professional training with particular strength in four areas, namely Arts and Humanities, STEM and Social Sciences, the Business and Education Professions, and Health and Wellness.
The university offers a simple, streamlined admissions process for international students that includes a variety of outcomes designed to ensure success inside and outside of the classroom. The admissions outcome and Adelphi International program depends on academic qualifications, English-language level and personal preferences. Based on achievements, students are placed in a program tailored to their academic needs. Its students can explore the university through activities, clubs, organizations, sporting events and performances.
Students come to Adelphi from around the world to gain a global perspective and explore their interests and passions. The university serves almost 8,000 students at its beautiful main campus in Garden City and at dynamic learning hubs in Manhattan, the Hudson Valley and Suffolk County. Its Center for Recreation and Sports (CRS) is a state-of-the-art, 76,000-square-foot facility that houses a three-court gymnasium for basketball, volleyball or badminton, a three-lane indoor track, and locker rooms available to rent. Next to CRS is Woodruff Hall, which houses the fitness center, swimming pool and racquetball and squash courts.
