About Brock University

Brock University is one of Canada’s top post-secondary institutions. Located in historic Niagara region, Brock offers all the benefits of a young and modern university in a safe, community-minded city with beautiful natural surroundings. In the late 1950s, there was growing public discussion about how Niagara should have its own university. Its residents wanted young people to get a good education without having to leave the area. By fall 1962, the Brock Founders Committee was incorporated. It received approval to create a new university, and then developed an administrative and academic plan. Then it began raising money. After years of meetings and fundraising, Brock opened in September 1964. Brock serves its community as a cultural, academic and recreational centre, bringing excellent facilities to the people who created the University all those years ago. They are committed to building their community and to fostering an environment that serves their students and their neighbours.

Brock offers a safe and engaging first-year experience. Before classes start, you can participate in their Smart Start program to learn more about the campus and simplify your program registration. With more than 18,000 students in seven diverse Faculties, Brock University offers an academic experience that’s second to none. Their degree programs are designed with your future in mind. They focus on your career with co-op and service learning options that provide maximum exposure to your chosen field of study. Brock is more than a school — it’s a community. There’s a variety of clubs, intramural athletic options and extracurricular activities to stimulate any interest. Beyond your own participation, cheer on the Brock Badgers in a wide variety of sports. As a comprehensive university, Brock has an expansive selection of undergraduate programs as well as advanced research, post-graduate and doctoral options.

From the moment you step on campus their team is here to ensure you settle in quickly and discover all that Brock has to offer. From Orientation Week in September until final exams in April, your first year at Brock will be an unforgettable experience. One exciting opportunity available to first-year students is Mentorship Plus. This program connects new students with senior student mentors who can help you adjust to university life. Outside of class, the University hosts many clubs and intramural sports in state-of-the-art meeting and athletics facilities. Their campus is a safe place for you to grow personally and academically. They have a 24-hour security team to keep you safe.
