Virtual high school preparation program

EQI's virtual high school preparation program offers flexible English preparation in a virtual learning environment. It was designed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing students to continue learning and practising their English skills in a safe environment.

The program involves plenty of teacher interaction through Microsoft Teams. Students enjoy engaging lessons delivered by highly experienced teachers and student-to-student interaction in the virtual classroom environment.

Parents are involved throughout the process and receive academic progress reports and end of term interview sessions.

Once travel restrictions are lifted, students can fast-track to their in-person studies at a Queensland government high school. The program is designed in line with the EQI High School Preparation program and offers both beginner and intermediate classes to ensure students are prepared for their mainstream classroom experience.

Virtual high school - Year 10

The Year 10 program commences in Term 1 2022 (January) and is available for students seeking to begin their Year 10 program in a virtual learning environment.

Students will study six subjects delivered by specially chosen and highly trained Queensland teachers. Classes will be delivered through Microsoft Teams and Education Perfect platforms, with access provided as part of their EQI enrolment.

Key lessons will be recorded to support students' learning and when Australia's borders open, students will transition to their face-to-face onshore Year 10 program.

The Queensland government has one of the most effective education systems in the world. The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) names Australia as one of the best-performing countries for education, as students perform higher than the global average.

Internationals benefit from an excellent curriculum, highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, small classes, and diverse learning environments. Classes usually have 25–28 students, and many teachers hold postgraduate qualifications.
