International Education Services (University of Queensland Foundation Year)
International Education Services Limited (IES) is a Brisbane based, not-for-profit organisation. IES Foundation Year programs guarantee entry into most undergraduate programs at The University of Queensland to all students who meet the specific standards for their chosen program. More than 5,000 international students have successfully completed the program and passed onto University of Queensland. IES Foundation Year annually enrols over 600 students from more than 40 different countries.
Three programs are available which are Standard, Express and Extended. Program placement is determined after consideration of a student’s academic background, English proficiency and desired undergraduate program as well as any other additional needs a student may have. Each program offers both first and second semester start dates with entry into university the semester directly after graduation. Students receive the same high level of tuition across all three programs.
International Education Services Foundation Year is delivered across two campuses in the Brisbane suburb of Spring Hill, a short drive from UQ's St Lucia and Herston campuses and a fifteen-minute drive from the Brisbane International Airport. The main campus, located on Boundary Street, houses lecture halls, tutorial rooms and quiet study areas. The majority of subjects are taught at the Boundary Street campus. Both campuses have internet access, resource rooms, break-out rooms and student counsellor offices.
