Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School is an approved school under the Accreditation of Non-State Schools Act, 2001 and the Education Services For Overseas Students Act (ESOS), 2000. Its mission is to excel at providing all our girls with a positive, personalised, holistic education delivered by professional, dedicated staff in a safe, first-class environment. Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School was established in 1892 and it shares a campus with the co-educational Ipswich Junior Grammar School which caters for boys and girls from Kindy to Year 6. Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School is focused on excellence and nurtures every young woman, girl and boy to become confident, well-educated and prepared for higher learning, local and global citizenship and life.
Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School has offered girls a first-class, independent, non-denominational education for 125 years. It is one of the eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland. IGGS girls benefit from highly experienced teachers, a rigorous academic curriculum and personalised learning. In its co-educational Junior School, core literacy and numeracy skills are developed using explicit teaching methods. As students’ progress through the middle and senior years, teachers use a combination of explicit and student-centred teaching and learning methods.
