Ranked 65 among Kiplinger’s Top 100 Public Colleges, Louisiana State University is the highest rated public university in Louisiana. Home of the Fighting Tigers, it is the flagship institution of the state of Louisiana and is one of only 30 universities nationwide holding land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant status. The university offers students more than 235 areas of undergraduate study, 49 doctoral and 73 master’s degree programs of study. Louisiana State University is composed of eight institutions on seven campuses in five cities. It includes LSU A&M, LSU Agricultural Center, LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, LSU Alexandria, LSU Eunice, LSU Shreveport, and Pennington Biomedical Research Center. It has more than 100 student organizations and offers a variety of recreational and sports activities to students.
