What's new

What's new

Launching new degrees to meet demand in science, technology and social services sectors

Due to the growing demand for talented employees in Calgary's scientific, technology and social services industries, Mount Royal University is accelerating talent to support these sectors.

In addition to new degree programs in chemistry, biology and computer science in the Faculty of Science and Technology in 2018 and 2019, MRU launched a four-year degree in the Bachelor of Social Work in 2021. This brand-new degree compliments the popular two-year diploma from the faculty of Health, Community and Education.

Students are prepared for higher learning and careers in these in-demand subjects by promoting international experiences, hands-on learning and research opportunities. Events that promote student research and Community Service Learning (CSL) designated courses allow students to integrate impactful experience on their resume early in their studies.

Students in these new programs are at the forefront of innovation in their fields of study. MRU is an AShokaU designated Changemaker Campus, meaning the university has met a high global standard for being leaders in creating sustainable change.

The university operates in socially and environmentally conscious ways to address local and global challenges. The designation recognizes investment in the continuous development of individuals who see the value of higher education in making the world a better place.

Live Events and Information Sessions

MRU information sessions give prospective students the opportunity to find out more about the institution, its degree programs, admission procedures, and learn more about Calgary. Students can interact with university representatives and ask any questions they may have from the comfort of their own homes.

Virtual information sessions are offered on an on-going basis. Sessions cover both general and specific topics, including international transcript submission.
