OCAD University is the single largest and most comprehensive independent art, design and media university in Canada. Established in 1876, the university is Canada's largest and oldest educational institution for art and design. It challenges students to audaciously and responsibly pursue the questions of the time through the powerful interplay of art, design, the social sciences, humanities, and the sciences.
At OCAD University ,it focuses on studio-based learning, placing value on creative, aesthetic and technical practice. Students also gain rich theoretical, scientific and historical knowledge. It offers six undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Design degrees. The University is the proud home of six niche graduate programs, which culminate in a Master of Arts, a Masters of Fine Arts or a Master of Design.
OCAD University is located in downtown Toronto next to the Art Gallery of Ontario. The campus is easily accessible by transit and surrounded by safe, walkable neighbourhoods. The campus extends from Mc Caul to Richmond Street West and includes the iconic Sharp Centre for Design, designed by Will Alsop.
