TAFE ELICOS Centre - Illawarra Institute



As part of a New South Wales Government-owned training institution, their TELICOS Centre is located at their North Wollongong Campus. Their large, modern and comfortable classrooms are equipped with the latest technology which will enhance your learning experience. You will also have: A safe and secure learning environment, Support and assistance from the International Business Unit throughout your term of study , Student cafeterias, cafes and bookshops, Computerised language laboratory, Individual Learning Centre with tutorial support, Campus Library, access to computers and the internet, quiet study areas, and photocopying services , Access to the recreational and sporting facilities of the North Wollongong campus, Membership of the Illawarra Institute Students' Association and its range of social functions and commercial benefits, Access to a Professional Student Counsellor and International Student Faculty Coordinator when you need personal or academic advice and support.
TELICOS is open for 50 weeks per year and classes are 25 hours per week which includes five hours of self-access study. You will sit for a placement test on your first day and have a short interview with one of the TELICOS staff to determine the most appropriate level of course. Your reading, writing, speaking and listening will be assessed. You will then be placed into one of their courses at the appropriate level and you will continue your study through the General English Program.
