TAFE Queensland North
TAFE Queensland North is the premier provider of vocational education and training and the largest in Queensland with 17 campus locations including the regional centres of Cairns, Townsville, Mount Isa and The Whitsundays and their surrounding areas.
TAFE Queensland North is the result of an amalgamation between Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE, Tropical North Institute of TAFE and the Mount Isa Institute of TAFE. By harnessing the strong reputation each of these Institutes had in their communities for providing exceptional training and education they are able to improve education and training to the region as a collaborative force.
They offer a wide range of courses to give you the largest choice of training options. Their teachers are industry professionals committed to sharing their skills and knowledge and they provide their students with hands-on training focusing on real life experiences. Their study options include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, training for apprenticeships and traineeships, and a variety of accredited and non-accredited short courses. They offer over 300 courses across 17 campus locations, TAFE Queensland North is the largest provider of vocational education and training in Queensland.
TAFE Queensland North extends from the Whitsundays area on the east coast of Queensland, across the west to Mount Isa, Cloncurry and Normanton (Lower Gulf) then north to Bamaga and Thursday Island at the tip of the Cape York Peninsula. They are the largest of all the regions in Queensland they cover an area of over 520,000 square kilometres, which is twice the size of the state of Victoria.
