The University of Auckland English Language Academy
The English Language Academy is part of the University of Auckland, which is ranked in the world’s top 100 universities and the highest-ranked university in New Zealand. Each year, it welcomes students from over 35 countries into it’s English language courses. Students can meet, make friends and learn English with people from around the world.
ELA provides a wide range of English language programmes, including direct university pathways, Academic English, General English, customised group programmes, and teacher-training courses. It employs qualified and experienced teachers who are all dedicated to helping students reach their goals. The Academy teachers use a communicative language teaching approach, where interaction and communication are the main aims of study. Lessons involve active learning through pair and group work, in which teachers facilitate communication and provide students with every opportunity to practice their language skills.
