There are over 150 sports clubs and societies on offer at the University and all are run by students and supported by the Union. From individual sports like archery, boxing, swimming, trampolining and even weightlifting, to team sports like football, rugby (union and league), cricket, netball, table tennis, American football, dodgeball and cheerleading, students will surely have the best time of their life.
The Institute of Education has a Forest School Practitioner who offers Forest School sessions across all programmes of Education. The Forest School sessions are held in an area of woodland close to Kedleston Road, Derby Campus. Adjacent to the patch of woodland is a sports field, which is also used for fieldwork in areas of education. Whilst these sites are owned by the University they are also designated as open green space for community use. Each session aims to fit specific aspects of education and demonstrate how they can be linked to the curriculum.
