Established in 1970, The Arboretum is home to more than 2000 different taxa of woody plants, organized into collections that include a synoptic World of Trees collection, as well as a Native Trees of Ontario collection, and noteworthy collections of Oaks and Beeches, Maples, and Conifers. It encompasses 400 acres of plant collections, gardens, walking trails, natural woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. Adjacent to the university's main campus, The Arboretum is free to the public and open dawn until dusk.

With more than 200 clubs and organizations, it's easy to get involved in campus life at U of G, and it is one of the best ways to ease your transition to university life. Student clubs span cultural and religious interests, sports and academics, the arts and community service - there's something here for everyone. In addition, there are a number of student governments on campus and many groups that advocate for important social issues.

Guelph?s main campus is located on 350 hectares of land in the heart of Guelph, Ontario. The self-contained campus is made up of charming traditional buildings and new facilities set amidst spectacularly landscaped grounds, phenomenal green space and the Arboretum creating an inspiring backdrop to complement your graduate experience.
