University of Tasmania (UTAS)
The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is Australia’s fourth oldest university. It is Australia’s premier university for teaching excellence, recently receiving more teaching awards than any other Australian university. As a medium-sized university with approximately 38,000 students, the university provides smaller classes, personalized attention and ready access to lecturers and tutors for advice and support. The University of Tasmania is a national leader in industry-led research and has a long record of working with industry, non-government organisations and individuals to devise local solutions for a global stage. Its courses draw upon its world-class research and strong links to the global and local industry while giving students both the theoretical and practical experience to hit the ground running in their chosen profession. The university is classed within the top two per cent of Universities worldwide and has received numerous awards for excellence in teaching. The University of Tasmania’s main campus in Hobart is located in the suburb of Sandy Bay. Set on 100, sloping hectares, it has panoramic river and city views and is close to shops, transport, and entertainment. It is only a short walk to Hobart’s CBD and a quick drive to the airport.
