Woodcroft College opened in 1989 as a day school for secondary students in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. Although it is an Anglican foundation, the College is not exclusive and welcomes families who would choose a caring, Christian environment for their children’s education.
An International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Woodcroft College offers the Primary Years Program (PYP) in the Junior School, the Middle Years Program (MYP) in the Middle School, and the Diploma (DP) in the Senior School. Senior School students may also choose the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with its Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway.
The staffs at Woodcroft are committed to ensure that every child achieves their personal best. Through the benefits of the International Baccalaureate Programs, students will be encouraged to take risks and acquire the lifelong skills of an independent learner. They will be encouraged and supported to excel in their studies, both personally and academically.
The Extracurricular Program is an integral part of Woodcroft College. The school offers a variety of music tuition, sports and activities throughout the year. Sport, although not compulsory, is an integral part of the total educational program and can enhance curriculum learning outcomes for students. There are also a broad range of clubs and activities that includes: activity club, chess, cooking for fun, cycling, debating, slot car club, music, pedal prix, SAPSASA sport and surfing.
The Woodcroft College Digital Learning Program is now well established with all students across Years 3 to 12 required to bring their own iPads to school. Students have access to high speed internet, wireless network access, interactive SMART Boards, data projectors and industry-specific software like Computer-Aided Design (CAD) in Technology and Adobe Creative Suite in Design.
School’s Pastoral Care system ensures that all students are supported and valued as an individual. The fostering of high quality relationships among students, parents and staff is a responsibility shared by everyone. Teachers are supported by Student Services Team, consisting of a Director of Student Services and two qualified counsellors, and the College Chaplain.
The school is set in spacious, landscaped grounds with modern buildings including a Gymnasium and the Mark Porter Hall, extensive playing fields, and courts. Specialist teaching areas are well equipped with up-to-date resources, and information and communications technology.
