The curriculum of Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) builds on the institution’s extensive diversity by combining American educational traditions with global perspectives and stressing rigorous intellectual engagement, relevant career education and social responsibility. A student-to-faculty ratio of 15 to 1 and an average class size of 20 helps graduates become responsible citizens and active, independent, lifelong learners.
HPU offers 50 majors to its 7,000 undergraduates and 12 degree programs to its graduate students in an environment that combines the excitement of an urban downtown campus with the serenity of a residential campus, set in the green foothills of the windward side of the breathtaking tropical island of Hawaii.
HPU focuses on teaching students life-long skills by providing internships and work in career-related fields through the Career Services Center. Honolulu, with a metropolitan population of 900,000, is one of the most pleasant, diverse places on earth. Despite its tropical location, the climate is moderated by the ocean, with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures vary little, from 30°C to 20°C.
