Selected to present at WHO conference
CQUni undergrads were the only two to have been chosen to present at the 12th Biennial Conference of the Global Network of WHO collaborating centres for Nursing and Midwifery. Second year student, Shanda Clark, and first year student, Rhianna Wood, from Bachelor of Nursing presented at the WHO conference with a Universal Health Care theme.
Shanda Clark presented a poster at the conference about her journey to university from a lower socioeconomic background. Rhianna Wood spoke about her visit to Philippines where she taught English to troubled youth and at a preschool. Both students are from Townsville and have been studying their degrees via distance education.
Partners with Ohio State University
CQUniversity Australia graduates will have job opportunities in the agri-tech sector, due to its growing partnership with The Ohio State University. Both universities are working on an agreement to support joint research projects for enhancing animal production and improving water quality. The research goals also include working on reducing soil erosion in America’s Great Lakes and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
CQUni Associate Professor in Precision Livestock, Mark Trotter says, "We are already drawing on skillsets from Ohio State in advanced statistical analysis and implementation of farm technology.”
