In light of the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing restrictions to regular activities, Edith Cowan College has implemented a number of changes to ensure that it continues to deliver high-quality education to its students, as well as keeping them safe and secure as circumstances evolve.

The college has introduced a range of support services to assist students during this challenging period. These services have also been carefully migrated to an online virtual environment to allow students and staff to access them safely. This includes personal, academic, or financial support. In order to access some services, evidence of certain circumstances or hardship must be provided alongside a student's application for the service in question.

The college's Student and Academic Services team (SAS) is always on hand and available to for students of ECC.

In response to the possibility that some students will experience difficulty in accessing computer and digital resources at home, the college has ensured that all students can freely access Edith Cowan University's computers and complimentary Wi-Fi network across all ECU sites from 8am to 8pm every day.

The college has also provided a number of specific financial support packages in response to the Covid-19 crisis and associated disruption, and is committed to ensuring that students in need are able to access them.

Pathway Programs

Pathway Programs

Edith Cowan College hosts an impressively wide array of study options, including fast-track diploma courses across multidisciplinary topics, or reputable English Language courses over short- or long-term periods.

The college's fast track pathway can allow students to complete a diploma in as little as eight months, meaning that an ambitious student is able to complete an undergraduate degree that follows in two and a half years. ECC offers the following programs to prospective students:

  • Diploma of Communications and Creative Industries
  • Diploma of Hotel Management
  • Diploma of Science (Computing/IT)
  • Diploma of Science (Engineering Studies)

In addition to this, a complimentary, non-accredited Academic Support Unit is available to all students during each semester. Students can voluntarily take this module or it may be required as part of a wider course of study.

Academic English courses are also available and will be packaged alongside a student's chosen study if they do not meet the minimum English language requirement for the course.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Prospective students who wish to apply for entry into Edith Cowan College will be assessed according to their academic background and achievements to date, in addition to their English language proficiency. The college also accepts applications from mature-aged students and may admit them with an advanced academic standing if they demonstrate relevant professional or academic experience in their application.

All courses and diploma programs at Edith Cowan College are taught in English. As a result, applicants to an ECC course must demonstrate a minimum of English language proficiency before they will be admitted to an ECC program.

The college accepts several methods for demonstrating English language proficiency, including submission of evidence of Year 12 Australian studies or equivalent IELTS Test Scores. Alternatively, Pearson English Test scores or other equivalents are also accepted. The minimum required scores will differ according to the grading method employed by each English test type.

For mature aged students aged 20 or more, acceptance into a program without satisfying the formal academic requirements may be considered in some circumstances. In order to achieve this, the applicant will need to submit their application through portfolio entry and must accompany their application with documentary evidence of their work experience, an up to date CV, and a written personal statement. Other support documents may be required depending on the program selected.

Scholarships & funding

Edith Cowan College welcomes students from a wide array of backgrounds and recognises that some students may face more difficulty than others in funding their studies in Australia. In addition, the college is committed to rewarding academic achievement and hard work amongst its new and existing students. ECC offers an wide array of scholarships, including:

ECC Pathway Scholarship

This scholarship is available to ECC international students who apply for, and receive an offer to commence study at ECC on a packaged pathway course to ECU.. To be eligible, students must achieve a minimum WAM (Weighted Average Mark) of 75 on completion of their ECC Diploma. This scholarship will entitle successful applicants to a 20 per cent reduction to their tuition fees for the rest of their degree course at Edith Cowan University.

ECC Diploma Scholarship

This scholarship is available to all international students who are beginning a Diploma program at Edith Cowan College. The award will entitle the successful applicant to a ten per cent reduction to their tuition fees for all diploma units undertaken by the student at the college.

In order to be eligible to receive this scholarship, the applicant must be an international student and must be beginning an ECC diploma program within the required timeframe. It must also be the first time they enter into an ECC diploma program.

English Scholarship

The college also provides a ten-week scholarship to international students in English, for students who combine English learning with a Diploma or PQP Program at ECC before undertaking a degree at the university.
