The University of Hartford, established in 1957, provides a robust, distinctive educational experience for its more than 5,000 undergraduate and 1,600 graduate students. Distinguished faculty provide rigorous instruction as well as research, performance, and internship opportunities in more than 100 degree programs in the arts, humanities, business, engineering and technology, education, and health professions. The University offers 96 undergraduate majors and 65 graduate-level degree programs in its seven schools and colleges. Its alumni include Broadway and film actors, opera standouts, internationally known artists and musicians, professional all-star athletes, successful business entrepreneurs, award-winning teachers and nurses, engineers who make groundbreaking discoveries, and doctors who are leaders in their fields.
At the University of Hartford, students pursue a wide range of interests and talents with more than 100 different clubs and organizations. Its Hartt School Community Division provides music, dance, and theatre instruction to more than 4,000 individuals of all ages from across the state. The University’s athletics program draws thousands of Hawk supporters to campus to see teams compete in 17 intercollegiate sports.
It sits proudly on a 350-acre main campus that includes parts of Hartford, West Hartford and Bloomfield, Conn. It provides a beautifully landscaped vista with grassy expanses and wooded areas with a branch of the Park River winding through it. The university has more than 370 endowed scholarships and 150 endowed funds in addition to new buildings and athletic fields.
