Yoobee Colleges

Yoobee Colleges officially formed in May 2019. The creative minds and legacies of South Seas Film & Television School, Animation College, Yoobee School of Design, AMES ? The Institute of IT and Design & Arts (Canterbury) joined forces to become Yoobee Colleges, an interdisciplinary college with seven campuses located across New Zealand. All the colleges have rich histories, dating back 30 years in some cases, and they have been working collaboratively for several years to offer complementary pathway programmes.

The official joining of these forces under one umbrella strengthens these relationships, enabling greater pathway options for students and stronger educational outcomes, as some of the best creative educators in New Zealand come together for the joint purpose of training the country?s top creatives and IT professionals and getting them into rewarding careers.

Yoobee Colleges is committed to developing generation after generation of New Zealand?s leading creative and technical talents. The main focus is on practical training where students get to hone their craft. Students won?t spend three years in lectures, instead they will spend their time developing skills and producing industry-quality work. Small class sizes form the backbone of the Yoobee Colleges educational model.

Yoobee has four campuses in Auckland, ranging from a Hollywood-style production studio to high-tech animation and technology centres. Wellington Campus is home to Peter Jackson?s famous Weta Studios and New Zealand?s capital is constantly rated one of the best cities in the world to live. The original Yoobee, the Christchurch campus is getting an upgrade, with a new build opening in July 2019. With space for 700 students, the brand-new central-city campus is custom-made for creating and collaborating. Situated in Rotorua?s main shopping precinct, the Rotorua campus features fully equipped technical and computer labs as well as a spacious and well-lit life drawing room.
