- The Higher Education Academy’s Postgraduate Research Students Survey ranked the University amongst the top 10 UK universities in all of its five key areas of measurement.
- Quality research has been recognised by subject reviews for the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales. All subject reviews were rated as satisfactory or better and nine subject areas being rated ‘excellent’.
- The University has received many funding grants from Research Councils, the EU, the Welsh Assembly Government and Industry. - The international community at the University comprises followers of 92 religions and students from 143 countries, making a varied and inclusive community and, because the University is still relatively small, the atmosphere is very friendly.
- International students are also supported with the opportunity to take pre-sessional English classes and receive English language support.
- The International office has a dedicated Welfare team for International students which is on hand to assist students with applications, free study skills tuition and pastoral support throughout their course. Student Satisfaction
The University was rated as sixth in the world for international student satisfaction, based on its learning, living, support and arrival services (ISB2012).
- Cardiff Metropolitan University is the top university in the UK across seven key areas including ‘overall student satisfaction’ in the International Student Barometer 2012.
- Three further areas were rated first within the UK, including Immigration and visa advice offered by the University.
- In the most recent National Student Survey (NSS) 82% of students at Cardiff Metropolitan said that overall, they were satisfied with the quality of their course.
- The NSS also showed that 92% of students thought that they had been allocated suitable placements for their course and 78% said that their course was intellectually stimulating.

Variety of Courses
Cardiff Metropolitan University provides a range of courses based on active research in several academic fields:
- There are 57 undergraduate and 57 postgraduate programmes available in five academic schools.
- The University works in partnership with industrial partners to develop up-to-date and relevant research projects, such as the Food Industry Skills Project and the Creative Leadership and Enterprise Centre (CLEC).
- Each academic school delivers specialised and up-to-date taught and research programmes which have links to research and commercial partners, ensuring each course is tailored to its field.

Our students are fortunate to be situated in the heart of one of Europe's most exciting and multicultural destinations. Cardiff Metropolitan is situated in Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, a country with a long tradition of welcoming students from all over the world.
Located only two hours from London by road or train, Cardiff has an exciting and diverse character and has recently been named as one of the world's top cities to visit by National Geographic Magazine.
Cardiff Metropolitan University is based across three campuses in the centre of Cardiff at Llandaff, Cyncoed and Howard Gardens. All campuses are linked by the extensive University Rider bus service, which operates on a weekly pass system. Each location is within the central Cardiff area, close to local and national transport links.
As the Welsh capital, Cardiff boasts an excellent, year-round calendar of events and culture; from theatre, comedy and concerts to music and food festivals and major sporting events. The city also offers impressive shopping and was recently named the 6th best shopping destination in the UK. Cardiff has the whole spectrum of shopping, with charming Edwardian and Victorian arcades and ultra-modern shopping centres.
In addition, Cardiff is home to a number of higher education institutions and over 40,000 students live in the city in total, ensuring that the city caters to a wide variety of student needs, tastes and budgets. The city has a number of popular student nights in restaurants and bars where Cardiff Met students can enjoy discounted meals. The International Office also arranges a number of events and trips for students including the International Welcome Party which happens a few weeks after Orientation.
Cardiff International and Bristol airports are close by, and London is only 2 hours away. Cardiff city is also only about an hours drive away from the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is home to breath-taking Welsh mountains and scenery and provides ample opportunity for outdoor pursuits.
