On January 1st 2019, Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown and Institute of Technology Tallaght became Ireland?s first Technological University ? TU Dublin. With 28,500 students TU Dublin is the place where the arts, business, science, engineering and technology converge.
The new University, one of the largest third-level educators in Ireland, provides inclusive and open learning experience offering pathways to graduation, from foundation to undergraduate to PhD , to students from all over the world. Publicly-funded, TU Dublin is a member of the European University Association. All degrees are recognized internationally and as an autonomous, doctorate-awarding institution, TU Dublin is proud of the excellent reputation.
Offering over 200 programmes to students from more than 85 countries, across disciplines including Applied Arts, Humanities, Built Environment, Engineering, Business, Science, Tourism Food and Sports, TU Dublin offers diverse range of specialist programmes such as Optometry, Human Nutrition, Transport & Logistics, Horticulture, Environmental Health and Tourism Marketing. The emphasis of the TU Dublin student experience is on practice, with a range of opportunities in the curriculum applying theory to real-world challenges through problem-based learning, active citizenship, work-placement opportunities, project work, active learning, community-based learning, research and engagement with contemporary practitioners.
University is not just about academic learning, and with a wide range of societies and sports clubs, TU Dublin students have plenty of opportunities to enjoy a vibrant campus life. The dedicated international office staff ensure that International students are supported throughout their studies, so they can fully embrace university life in Dublin. With small class sizes, students enjoy a close working relationship with fellow students and academic supervisors.
TU Dublin is located on campuses spanning the three largest population centres of Ireland?s capital city - Dublin City, Blanchardstown and Tallaght. A new state of the art Grangegorman campus on a 73-acre site in the heart of Dublin City is being developed as a location that encourages and supports knowledge advancement, sustainable development and inclusive education. Blanchardstown campus is located approximately 6 miles from Dublin City Centre. Blanchardstown is a growing suburb of Dublin. The area has experienced a period of unprecedented economic growth over the last decade and is now the industrial and commercial hub for Fingal with large concentrations of retail, pharmaceutical, IT, distribution and service companies. Tallaght campus is located approximately 7 miles from Dublin City Centre. Tallaght is a vibrant suburb, southwest of Dublin City in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. With a population of over 100,000 it is one of Ireland?s largest urban centres.
