Old Dominion University, located in the City of Norfolk in the metropolitan Hampton Roads region of coastal Virginia, is a dynamic public research institution that serves its students and enriches the Commonwealth, the nation, and the world through rigorous academic programs, strategic partnerships, and active civic engagement. Old Dominion University hosts more than 300 student organizations, providing students an opportunity to expand their growth and learning through leadership, service, and socializing with a diverse group of peers. Student Organizations register each year with the university and are entirely student-led, may apply for funding from the Student Government Association to support annual costs, and are advised by an ODU Faculty/Staff member. The Office of Leadership and Student Involvement provides on-going support to encourage the success of these organizations, their members, and their leaders.
The University Libraries provide online research databases, e-books, thousands of online journals and more than 3 million items in its physical collections. Also, living a healthy lifestyle is an integral part of total success and ODU offers a variety of services and programs designed to help students maintain optimum health. Beside this, student centric department, Student Outreach and Support, provides support to students who experience administrative, academic or personal roadblocks. It helps students achieve their personal and academic goals.
